Nexus Arts Grant Information Session

Aims of the Nexus Arts Grant

  • To provide young Western Australians with disability from across the State, particularly school leavers with resources to develop their artistic practice and skills through project-based activities or mentorships that result in a public outcome.
  • To support individual funding and development for young people with disability who want to develop a career in the Arts.

Date:                       5 September 2017, Tuesday

Time:                       4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Venue:                    ACDC, 189 Marine Terrace, Geraldton WA 6530

Funding round:      Opens 1 Dec 2017 and closes 30 Mar 2018

Funding levels:      $2,000, $5,000, $10,000

Who should attend

Young artists with disability, parents, arts teachers, local coordinators, support workers, arts mentors.

Eligibility

Applicants must be young people with disability between the ages of 16 to 25 years and have lived in Western Australia for at least the past five years.

Applicants must experience a disability:

  • which is attributable to an intellectual, cognitive, neurological, sensory or physical impairment or a combination of those impairments; ?
  • which is permanent or likely to be permanent; ?
  • which results in a substantially reduced capacity for communication, social interaction, learning or mobility; and a need for continuing support services. ?

Applicants with a psychiatric disability are not eligible unless their primary diagnosis is one of the above impairments.
